2019 KIA Niro: Three Great Vehicles in One

2019 KIA Niro Hybrid
The 2019 KIA Niro Hybrid gets some minor trim and color tweaks, an S Touring trim takes the place of the former Graphite Edition, and the AVN 4.0 navigation system is upgraded to version 5.0. As with the other versions of this KIA crossover, ground clearance is not much higher than a sedan like the KIA Optima, so while the all-wheel drive is great for grip on pavement, this isn’t a vehicle for serious off-road use.
2019 KIA Niro Plug-In Hybrid
The 2019 KIA Niro PHEV (plug-in hybrid) also sees only minor changes, but does not feature the S Touring trim found on the conventional hybrid. The electric motors have higher output here, and there’s also the ability to do local driving entirely on the electric motors. Like the other variants, the UVO eServices Infotainment System is standard on all models — as is its support of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Some features, like a premium Harman Kardon sound system with Clari-Fi, are relegated to the upper trims.
2019 KIA Niro EV
The other entries on this list are returning from model years past. Our last contender, the 2019 KIA Niro EV, is all-new for 2019. It trades the hybrid setups of its siblings for an all-electric powertrain. Between its styling, horsepower, and ample torque, the KIA Niro EV offers great performance. An added bonus: since electric motors are so quiet, engineers added a pedestrian warning system that makes this vehicle sound like you’re piloting a spacecraft through the streets.
