Classic Kia

Our Kia dealers near Kenosha care about the safety of our customers. That is why Classic Kia is proud to stock vehicles built safe for individuals and families like the 2015 Kia Sedona. Fully redesigned for the 2015 Kia model year, the minivan recently received high safety scores from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

In the mid 1960s, there was a great deal of focus on how to make cars safer. Congressional hearings led to seatbelts becoming mandatory, as well as the creation of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Today, the NHTSA has several functions. They set general safety standards and guidelines for automakers, help facilitate car recalls, and put all new vehicles through a variety of crash tests.

Since the 2015 Kia Sedona is part of a new vehicle generation, it was sent to the NHTSA for crash testing. The government ranks cars on a scale with five stars as the best rating. We weren’t surprised to hear that the 2015 Kia Sedona received an overall five star safety score!

The 2015 Kia Sedona was built using a new, tougher chassis than the previous generation. More than two-thirds of the body of the minivan is made up of Advanced High Strength Steel, which makes the minivan very tough. Steel has also been inserted into the A pillars of the sedan to further increase its toughness.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety similarly agreed with the IIHS. They gave the vehicle a Top Safety Pick award, plus top scores in their two front crash tests, side, and roof strength tests.
