Classic Kia

While many 2016 Kia cars are now on sale at Classic Kia, we’re still waiting for the 2016 Kia Optima to arrive. That’s because Kia has drastically overhauled the 2016 Kia Optima with improved exterior and interior styling and upgraded performance. Additionally, this year’s model is larger than the 2015 Kia Optima providing more interior space.

Sedan Size

This midsize sedan has grown a little bit this year. The car is longer by .4 inches and wider by 1.2 inches while the wheelbase also grows by .4 inches. These changes help passenger space grow to 104.8 cubic feet and the trunk space also expands to 15.9 inches. Altogether, these expansions help to provide more head room, room to stretch the legs, and more shoulder room in both rows.

Performance

Perhaps the best new change for the 2016 Kia Optima is the addition of a 1.6L turbocharged four-cylinder engine capable of a 178 hp. It will be paired with an also new seven-speed dual clutch transmission that provides the benefits of a manual transmission without you having to do the shifting. While fuel economy estimates have not been released, this engine offer significant improvements.

Kia will also bring back the current 2.4L four-cylinder engine that produces 185 hp and the bigger 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 245 hp. The automaker is also planning to release a new 2016 Kia Optima Hybrid.
