Classic Kia

Spring weather is finally starting to arrive at our Waukegan Kia dealership! This winter, Chicagoland had quite a bit of snow and ice making driving generally awful and putting our cars through the ringer. Now that the snow has cleared make sure your vehicle is up to snuff for spring driving. Here are just a few of the things that should be done or checked now that winter is done.

Clean the Exterior and Interior

The first thing to do is make sure your car has been thoroughly cleaned both inside and out. Not only is your car likely filthy right now, it still has road salt in the wheels and underneath the body. You’ve probably dragged salt into your car as well. Salt is great for getting rid of snow and ice on the road, but can also rust your car very quickly. Our Kia service center offers free car washes, as well as detailing services.

Tires and Wheel Alignment

Have you taken off your snow tires yet? It’s time to do so. If you drove on your regular tires, you will want to make sure the tread depth is deep enough, especially with spring rains on the way. In addition, your wheel alignment might have gotten screwed up. You’ll also want to watch out for this in the months ahead now that it’s pothole driving season.

Car Battery Charge

Car batteries really are not a fan of cold weather. If your battery is on the older side, this winter might have been the last straw. Let us check your battery to make sure your vehicle won’t die on the side of the road anytime soon.

Oil Change

It may not seem like a long time since the last oil change, but engines have to work harder and it’s easy for your filter to get clogged up. Our team would be happy to give you some fresh pints!
