The 2016 Chicago Auto Show featured lots of space and the latest in car technology, and unsurprisingly, Kia was there to show off its upcoming innovations. Classic Kia is excited about the reveal of the 2017 Kia Optima Hybrid, the latest in eco-friendly Kia cars. We hope this entry joins our inventory of new Kia cars soon. This vehicle features advanced technology that boost efficiency for a greater driving range.
The all-new 2017 Kia Optima Hybrid is the first Kia plug-in car, equipped with a charging port positioned in the front fender near the driver. The car gets going to a full charge under three hours with a 240V charger. Additionally, the car provides opportunity to reserve the electric energy thanks to its plug-in hybrid mode select system, which allows driving exclusively on the electric charge, perfect for shorter trips.
“As part of our bold initiative to increase fuel efficiency by 25 percent across the entire Kia model line-up by 2020, a plug-in hybrid was a critical addition to our offering,” said Orth Hedrick, vice president, product planning, Kia Motors America.
The 2017 Kia Optima Hybrid further distinguishes itself from the regular Kia Optima with efficient aerodynamics. An active grille automatically opens and closes at high and low speeds, and additionally, the engine bay cooling is optimized. There are also several safety technologies to reduce potential risks, such as Autonomous Emergency Braking, which brings the car to a stop if it detects an incoming collision, and Blind Spot Monitor and Lane Departure Warning System.
The 2017 Kia Optima Hybrid is expected to enter Kia car dealerships near the end of 2016.
In the meantime, our Waukegan Kia car dealership has offers on the new 2016 Kia Optima and the 2016 Kia Sorento. Visit us at 425 North Green Bay Road.
