We’re especially confident about one thing when it comes to our Kia cars: that they carry a high standard and offer quality features. This is consistently recognized by experts, as both the 2016 and 2017 editions of the Kia Sportage received prestigious awards from the most important safety committees in North America. It’s great to see such a commitment to improvement rewarded by experts.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, which tests consumer cars under more and more strict conditions, awarded the all-new 2017 Kia Sportage with the highest distinction — Top Safety Pick Plus, with the available front crash prevention.
“We are especially proud to have our all-new Sportage earn that TSP+ rating in light of IIHS’ new, more challenging standards, validating the efforts of our engineers and the priority we place on safety,” said Orth Hedrick, vice president, product planning, KMA, in a press release.
This brand-new SUV received top scores in five different crashworthiness tests, alongside technology tests that help detect and assist in incoming crash situations. Those include specific crashes that involve side impact, roof strength, head restraints, small overlap front, and moderate overlap front.
The wide range of safety capabilities in the 2017 Kia Sportage is dazzling, sure to satisfy anyone looking for a more secure ride. The list includes Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning System, Blind Spot Detection, and front and rear parking assist, among others. As for the structure of the vehicle, over half of it is made of Advanced High Strength Steel. The body also contains a lot of structural adhesives.
As we highly value safety, we hope this encourages our clients to check out what the new 2017 Kia Sportage is all about. Look for that and more at our Kia car dealership serving Gurnee.
