The Citadel Theatre Company in Lake Forest, IL

This beautiful, small theater company presents a wide range of theatrical productions year round from drama, comedy, contemporary theatre, classics, and cutting-edge new works from emerging artists. They also offer workshops to teens and children, allowing kids to explore the joy of self-expression through dance, theatre games, improv, voice and character development. This delightful stop off is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy country life through a trip to the farmyard, featuring a petting zoo, mini-golf mini train ride, bouncy house, and old-fashioned classic carousel. There’s also plenty to do for furry friends with the Dogwood Pet Shop, a great eatery on site at the Magnolia Cafe and Bakery and Sugar Maple Country Store, and prime shopping/antiquing at the Cedar Chest Thrift Shop.
