This year the 2016 Kia Sorento returns to Classic Kia with a full redesign. That means it’s completely different than the previous 2015 Kia Sorento in nearly every way. To get you excited for the new model, let’s take some time to see what’s different this year.
One of the biggest changes is the 2016 Kia Sorento is larger than last year’s model. While the 2015 Kia Sorento was a bigger alternative to a compact crossover, the new model straddles the ground between midsize and full-size crossovers. That leads to more cargo space and more interior room while still offering an affordable price.
Going along with the size increase, the 2016 Kia Sorento has become a higher quality model delivering increased levels of luxury without driving up the price. The cabin is made with plush, soft-touch materials, lots of features are packed into the crossover’s five trim levels, and the styling is altogether sharper.
Driving dynamics have also been increased to make it feel more like you’re driving a car and less like an SUV. The suspension system has been overhauled for a smoother ride and steering feels more like an extension of your body. Plus, the structure of the 2016 Kia Sorento has been toughened up to make the vehicle even safer.
What’s also new is a mid-range 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers 240 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. This engine sits between the standard 2.4L four-cylinder and the bigger 3.3L V6 to give drivers more options when it comes to power and efficiency.
