Classic Kia

2016 Kia cars are now on sale at Classic Kia, including the 2016 Kia Sportage. However, the auto industry never stops and Kia is preparing to unveil the fully redesigned 2017 Kia Sportage redesign later this month at the Frankfurt Auto Show. Ahead of its debut, the automaker shared full exterior photos of the model.

The compact crossover remains about the same size and retains a similar shape to the current 2016 Kia Sportage, but a closer look reveals quite a few changes. The design comes courtesy of chief Kia designer Peter Schreyer and uses a combination of aggressive edges and seamless surface areas, taking inspiration from military jets.

Perhaps most striking about the vehicle is its new front face. While Kia cars generally have the grille and headlights in the same line, the new 2017 Kia Sportage lowers the front grille lower and elevates lights closer to the hood and fenders. Altogether this emphasizes the crossover’s sporty nature, making it look a lot more aggressive.

The roofline appears dramatically swept back and flows gracefully into a short rear roof overhang. In the back, the car features a muscular, cut look. The back part of the redesigned crossover takes inspiration from the Kia Provo Concept that was shown back at the Geneva Motor Show in 2013. On the sides, the wheels are spaced further apart and the wheel well arches are also bigger than the 2016 Kia Sportage.

The 2017 Kia Sportage will debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show on September 15. In the meantime, feel free to come see the current 2016 Kia Sportage in Waukegan at Classic Kia where we’re located at 425 North Green Bay Road.
