The 2016 Kia Soul is Spacious and Fun to Drive

Powering the 2016 Kia Soul at its base level is a 1.6L four-cylinder gasoline engine. It produces 130 hp and 118 lb-ft of torque, which is delivered with either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. These models are quite efficient with an EPA-estimated 30 mpg highway with either transmission.

If you choose either the 2016 Kia Soul + or 2016 Kia Soul !, you’ll bump up power to 164 hp and 151 lb-ft of torque. Despite the increase in power, this engine is actually more efficient with an EPA-estimated 31 mpg highway. Models with this engine can go from zero to 60 mph in a quick 8.7 seconds—there’s no worry about getting up to highway speeds.

Thanks to the vehicle’s boxier design, there’s an ample amount of headroom and legroom while riding in the front or back. Even taller drivers will feel comfortable riding in the 2016 Kia Soul. There’s also plenty of space for groceries, suitcases, boxes, or anything else you need to transport. In back of the rear seats, there’s 19 cubic feet of storage space. If those rear seats aren’t needed, they can be folded down to open up a huge 61 cubic feet. The rear seat is 60/40 split-folding, so multiple cargo configurations are available.
