Regardless of the kind of vehicle you’re looking to buy, engine type is something most drivers overlook. While most people consider fuel economy and mileage, a lot of people don’t focus on what it probably the most important feature. Based on each driver’s lifestyle and needs, it begs the question, “Which engine type is right for me?” At Classic Kia, our staff can help you figure it out.

Gas Engine

Is the most common type of engine found in vehicles today. Although it used to get a bad rep, technological improvements have made gas engines more efficient than ever. This engine type is a great, standard option, for drivers who want a reliable and no fuss engine.

Diesel Engine

Diesel engines used to be associated with large trucks and tractors; however, diesel engines, are in fact actually more fuel efficient than gasoline engines. That’s because diesel naturally has more energy than gas, making it great for drivers who frequently take long, highway drives.

Electric Engine

This engine type is a fairly new and slightly more expensive option, though emission are lower than other engine types. Since electric engines don’t use any gasoline they rely completely on electricity. This means instead of fueling up, you’ll need to charge your vehicle. This is a great option for drivers who live in areas with charging stations and don’t go on extremely long drives.

Hybrid Engine

A hybrid engine is often considered to be a great option for drivers who are more indecisive, since it combines features from both gasoline engines and hybrid engines. Using the gasoline components and higher speeds and electric components at lower speeds, the hybrid engine is fuel efficient yet reliable.
