If you are looking to buy a used car, we have the perfect one for you at Classic Kia in Waukegan. And because we want you to be happy with your vehicle for a long time, we want you to know what to look for when you take a test drive. Our auto experts are here to help answer all your questions and make sure you get the best Kia pre-owned car for your money.
First, put the key in the ignition of your Kia used car but don’t start the engine. Turn the key to the last position before the engine starts. Both the check engine light and the antilock brake (ABS) light should illuminate.
Now you can turn on the engine. While in park, listen for any unusual noises. Are there tapping noises in the motor? Turn the wheel from side to side, does it screech? With your foot firmly on the brake, shift from drive to reverse. You should hear nothing above the soft purr of the engine.
When you are ready, start your test drive. The steering wheel should not shake or vibrate while you are driving or as you apply the brakes. Nor should it turn to one side if you take your hands off the wheel. The car should continue in a straight line when the brakes are applied. It is normal for cars equipped with antilock brakes to have a slight pulsating action in the pedal when the brakes are applied with force.
We are confident you will be satisfied with a used car from Classic Kia, serving Kenosha, Libertyville and Gurnee. We invite you to take a look at our online inventory of Kia pre-owned cars and then come in for a test drive today!
