Tires

"How often should I replace my tires?"

To accurately answer this question we would have to visually inspect the tires on your Kia. There are a lot of variables that can cause your tires to wear and tear. Such as, but not limited to, driving habits, climate (road conditions), and scheduled maintenance services (tire rotations and alignments). At Classic Kia we provide a complimentary multi-point inspection, so if you would like to know how often you should replace your tires, click here to schedule a service appointment.

"What are tires made of?"

The basic materials modern tires are made of are synthetic (man-made) rubber, natural rubber, fabric, and wire, along with other compound chemicals.

General Information:

The tire is a ring-shaped covering that fits around a wheel rim to protect it and enable better vehicle performance by providing a flexible cushion that absorbs shock while keeping the wheel in close contact with the ground. They consist of a tread and a body. The tread provides traction while the body ensures support. The overwhelming majority of car tires (99.9%) are pneumatic, or hollow and filled with a compressed gas, meaning they are made up of a doughnut-shaped body of cords and wires, wrapped in rubber and generally filled with compressed air to form an inflatable cushion.

This information is not accurate for every Kia model.  Before making any decisions based on the above information please contact Classic Kia and speak with a service adviser.  Only a Kia service adviser can make the proper recommendations for your new or used Kia vehicle.
