May is a very exciting month here in Lake County, Illinois! We’ve got plenty of fun-filled activities for you to enjoy on our local community calendar of events for May. From Mother’s Day Brunches to Live Music Events to Paint Nights to Memorial Day PArades, there’s something exciting to do every weekend!

Tulip Festival is running now through May 11th At Richardson Farm and Corn Maze in Spring Grove from 11AM to 6:30PM.

Illinois Craft Beer Week is running from May 3rd through May 10th in Gurnee, hosted by the Illinois Craft Brewing Guild; free admission to attend, 21+.

It’s Flight Night at North Shore Distillery on Thursday May 2nd! Come on down and enjoy a fine sampling of creative cocktails and drinks.

This Friday, May 3rd, it’s First Friday on MainStreet in Libertyville where you can enjoy live music, local food and beverage specials, local business discounts, and more!

Celebrate Cinco De Mayo at the Village of Round Lake Cultural Center on Friday May 3rd with Live Music, Latin Dance Lessons, and a professional DJ. There will be alcoholic beverages and food available to purchase; 18+ event.

On Saturday May 4th at the Lake County Fairground and Event Center in Grayslake, head out for an exciting day of earth shaking, ground pounding, exhilarating, adrenaline pumping fun with Chicagoland Monster Truck Wars from 11:30AM to 2PM.

Mayfest at the Grayslake Heritage Center and Museum is back on Saturday May 4th from 12PM to 4PM in Grayslake!

It’s an exciting Family Friendly weekend event at the Village of Antioch on Mainstreet in Antioch’s Touch-a-Truck event from 10AM to 1PM on Saturday May 4th!

On Sunday May 5th, do a little Mother’s Day Shopping at the Prairie Crossing Conservation Barn from 12PM to 5PM in Grayslake. Shop for some local Native Plants grown by Possibility Place, grab some gardening and composting supplies, and enjoy some organic vegetable, herb, and flower plants at the farm festival!

Enjoy a beautiful afternoon of Mother’s Day cookie decorating at the Joyful Gourmet with your kids, grandkids, and special someone on May 5th for some motherly love and bonding time.

Tighthead Brewery in Mundelein is hosting a special Pop-Up Museum at the Brewery with the Mundelein Historical Commission from 1PM to 4PM with a unique exhibit of antique artifacts. If you can correctly identify 13+ of the artifacts you can win a prize!

On May 8th, North Shore Distillery is hosting the Crafts and Cocktails: Garland Experience from 7PM to 8:30PM with Maggie from Three States Fiber Art, including a craft cocktail and cocktail demonstration! (Additional supplies and cocktails available for purchase

NIcole Devine will be performing live at Tighthead Brewing Company in Mundelein on Thursday May 9th from 7PM to 9PM.

The Brushwood Center is hosting their fantastic 3rd Annual Mother Earth Market at Ryerson Woods! Saturday the event runs from 10AM to 5PM and Sunday from 12PM to 5PM

On Saturday May 13th at 9AM, put on your best running shoes and get ready to run in the Foodie 5K in Libertyville; benefits the Northern Illinois Food Bank.

The Lake County Fairgrounds will be hosting the Zurko Antique and Flea Market on Saturday May 13th from 9AM to 4PM and Sunday May 14th from 9AM to 3PM.

The Volo Antique Mall is hosting their own special Mother’s Day Event on Sunday May 14th from 10AM to 5PM.

Tilt Studio in Gurnee Mills is hosting a Mother’s Day Special event starting at 11AM; for each mini golf outing you purchase, mama will get a game for free!

May 15th is the perfect day to gather all your car enthusiast pals and head over to MainStreet in Libertyville for CarFun on 21,featuring vintage and collectible cars, trucks, and motorcycles.

The Lake Zurich Water Lantern Festival will be illuminating the evening on May 18th at Paulus Park! A Family friendly event filled with fun, hope, happiness, and community.

The Blue Moon Gallery is hosting guest artist Roger Shule, The Matchbook Artist on Saturday May 25th from 6PM to 9PM in Grayslake.

Enjoy an afternoon of local food and fine cuisine at the Lake County Food Truck Festival from Friday May 24th through Sunday May 26th from 4PM to 6PM at the Lake County Fairgrounds and Event Center in Grayslake.
