Explore the Affordable 2015 Kia Rio at Classic Kia

It may seem hard to find an affordable new car in your budget these days, but don’t give up. Classic Kia has a number of low-priced models that may meet your driving needs. One such option is the 2015 Kia Rio. Available near Kenosha, the 2015 Kia Rio comes as either a subcompact hatchback or sedan. more Many subcompacts can seem underpowered, but that is not the case with this 2015 Kia car. Each model is powered by a 1.6L four-cylinder engine producing 138 hp and 123 lb-ft of torque. Models can go from zero to 60 miles per hour in 9.4 seconds, which is about a second quicker than most cars in the class. Drivers have the choice of either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic, depending on preference. An automatic stop-start system is available to help preserve fuel efficiency. When the driver stops at a light or idles, the engine actually shuts off, but the electronic features of the car like air conditioning or the stereo still work. This way no fuel is wasted when you're just sitting. As soon as you're ready to go, the gas engine springs back into life. With three trim levels to choose from, you can be sure to find the features you want. Base 2015 Kia Rio LX trims have quite a few tech gadgets like USB connectivity and satellite radio. Move to the higher trims for Bluetooth connectivity, a touchscreen interface, keyless ignition and entry, and class leather upholstery. Sedans give drivers an excellent 13.7 cubic feet of trunk space. Hatchbacks improve trunk space to 14.9 cubic feet. It is also easier to fold down the rear seats to easily fit in 49.8 cubic feet of your stuff. The choice is yours depending on your space needs. We have a variety of 2015 Kia Rio models in stock now at Classic Kia. Visit our Kenosha area Kia dealership, and we’ll be happy to show you all the trims available in a fun array of colors.

From the Desk of Mike Flament, Classic Kia Master Elite Service Manager

Our Kia dealership in Waukegan is here to help with all your vehicle needs. We’re much more than just a car dealership—we also offer a top-notch service center staffed with automotive experts. In my 26 years of service experience, I’ve seen pretty much everything that can go wrong with a vehicle. Here are a few of the more common questions we get at the service center. more Q: It’s cold outside and an orange tire symbol just popped up on the dash. What does this mean? The most common reason for this orange dash icon is your tire pressure is too low, which is a common occurrence when the temperature changes. Examine your tires to see if they’re flat. If they’re fine to drive on, bring your car to our Waukegan service center. We’ll get them back to the right pressure level. Q: Can I drive safely if the check engine light comes on? Provided you do not see any other lights on or flashing on the dashboard, your car is safe to drive for now. However, schedule a service appointment right away to make sure everything is actually fine. Q: I’m hearing a squeaking sound from the brakes while I drive, though it disappears when they’re actually applied. What’s going on? A: There’s a sensor built into your brake pads that gives off a shrill sound when they are starting to come into contact with the brake rotor. The sound lets you know your brake pads need to be changed right away. While they’re safe to drive on, don’t wait too long to visit us, or you’ll damage your rotors. Q: My car is starting to overheat. What do I do? A: No good can come from an overheating car. If your car overheats for too long, it can ruin the engine. Immediately pull over to a safe place and turn the car completely off. Your best bet is to call a tow truck right away and tow the car to Classic Kia. Please do not try to check or add any fluid to your radiator. Any remaining fluid will be excruciatingly hot and can cause severe burns. Let us take a look at the car and determine why your vehicle is overheating before driving again. Q: Does my car battery have a good electrical connection? How can I tell? A: Every so often, the cables and terminals on your battery need to be checked and cleaned so they stay connected. All of the services we provide come with a complimentary battery inspection. Anytime you visit our service department, we’ll take a look and let you know if there are any issues with your car’s battery.   For any other questions, give us a call at 847-336-4300.

Kia Celebrates Five Successful Years of US Production

When you’re looking at a new 2015 Kia Sorento near Libertyville at our dealership, did you know it was actually made right here in the United States. Though Kia may have originated in South Korea, today many of its models are produced in our country by American hands. Recently, Kia just celebrated five years of producing cars at Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia. more On November 16, 2009, the Kia plant in Georgia produced their first car. It was a 2011 Kia Sorento crossover painted white. To honor this first car, the Kia plant celebrated its five years in business by rolling out a new 2016 Kia Sorento crossover. Earlier this month on November 12, 2014, the plant also celebrated the completion of 1,500,000 Kia automobiles.   Originally, the plant in Georgia started with only one shift of 1200 team members. That is on the lower side for a manufacturing plant, which can sometimes turn out vehicles 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Of course, the demand for the plant soon grew in 2010, and 800 more jobs were created for a second shift.   Following in 2011, Kia decided to add the midsize 2011 Kia Optima to the production line, requiring a third shift. During this update, Kia invested $100 million to expand the plant and boosting production capacity to 360,000 models a year. In total, Kia created 3000 jobs at the plant. If you factor in local suppliers, the job total goes up to 14,000.   To see the results of American’s hard work, come to Classic Kia. We are located at 425 North Green Bay Road in Waukegan, where we have the 2015 Kia Sorento and 2015 Kia Optima in stock right now.

Now is the Time to Prepare Your Kia for Winter Driving

Our Kia dealership is in Waukegan, Illinois, where we have faced our share of bad weather the past couple winters. Here’s hoping this winter is not as bad as the last; as a car owner, though, you have to be ready for anything. That is why now is the time to get your Kia model prepared for winter driving. more Here are some tips to help you get through the winter: Tires: Check your tires to make sure your treads are still in good shape. If you have a car without all-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, you may want to consider snow tires (our Kia parts department can help with those). Lights: Test your lights while parked. Make sure they all appear bright and in line. You’re going to encounter a lot more night driving with shorter days, and it’s harder to see through snow. Windshield Wipers and Fluid: Consider getting special winter blades to cut through snow and ice along with winter wiper fluid that doesn’t freeze. Be sure to also check your washer nozzles, which can get clogged. Wash and Wax: Protect your car from road salt by getting it washed and waxed. You’ll want to also do this periodically during the winter. Finally, bring your car to the Classic Kia service center in Waukegan. We can take a look at your battery, brakes, and the rest of the car to get you tuned up for winter. Remember that any problems you are facing now are only going to get worse as the weather gets colder.
