2013 Kia Sportage Among Least Expensive Cars to Insure
There probably isn’t anybody in the entire world who goes home after buying a brand new vehicle and thinks to herself, “Wow, I simply cannot wait to pay the auto insurance on this sucker!” Because let’s face it—paying for insurance is probably the second most detestable way a human being can spend money (with taxes being the big winner in that particular category). Despite all that, the law tells us that we have to pay insurance just the same, so if there’s a way for a consumer to lower that cost, they’d be pretty smart to do it, right? more Of course, but the problem with insurance is that most of the variables that go into determining cost are things you really can’t help. Where you live is one factor, as is your age and your gender. Your driving record plays into things, too, but you can’t control what happened in the past. The only thing you can control is what kind of car you actually buy in the first place, and thanks to Fortune magazine, we now know which current models are the least expensive to insure. Happily, the 2013 Kia Sportage is among those vehicles listed, mostly because crossovers have generally surpassed minivans as the least expensive vehicles to insure. On top of everything else this vehicle does well, it also saves money on the insurance tip. In Gurnee, used cars are a dime a dozen, but the Sportage is one of the few you can count on as a saver in this particular regard. If you’ve got pay insurance, you may as well pay less for it, right?
2013 Kia Optima Among Safest In Industry
Every year the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety puts every major car in the automotive industry through a series of crash tests in order to determine which cars are totally and perfectly safe to drive, and which ones could use a little more engineering help in that arena the next model year around. For 2013, however, the IIHS went the extra mile by releasing a list of what they consider to be the thirteen safest cars of the year, and we were especially excited to find that the 2013 Kia Optima was right there, smack dab in the middle of the list. more Generally, when a car scores top marks of “Good” in frontal-offset, side-impact, and roof strength crash tests, the IIHS awards that car the title of Top Safety Pick. The thirteen cars on this list, however, were given the special distinction of Top Safety Pick+, with that last little bit of punctuation meant to show that our gorgeous midsize sedan is a cut above a whole bunch of its competition. When it comes to the safety of the 2013 Kia Optima, Libertyville drivers most often praise the four-wheel antilock disc brakes, the standard stability and traction control, and the multitude of airbags located all throughout the cabin of the car. The optional rearview camera doesn’t hurt anything either, and that’s why the IIHS (and the federal government who, we should add, also gave the Optima a five-star safety rating) named this vehicle one of the safest in the business. It’s not just a Top Safety Pick, remember; it’s a Top Safety Pick+.
Classic Kia De-Mystifyies the Lease
According to recent data, only one in every five new car transactions is a lease, and we here at Classic Kia think that has a lot to do with the fact that the average consumer doesn’t really fully understand how a lease works. Generally, people just want to own the thing they’re putting their hard-earned money towards and so count leasing out right from the get-go, but the truth is that you can get just as good a deal from your Kenosha Kia dealer for a leased vehicle as a purchased one. Sometimes, even better. more It all depends on what kind of driver you are. Are you someone who pays off your five-year loan in four years and then keeps the car for a few extra years without having to worry about monthly payments? Buy the car. It’s the better deal. But if you find yourself getting impatient with your car only two or three years into that same loan, there will come a point when you look to trade up, and that will mean rolling over the rest of the old loan and having to worry about trade-in value, which drops exponentially after the first year. This is the kind of person who might want to consider leasing, and the good news is that you can negotiate the price and miles allotment with this just like you can in a new car purchase. Just talk to one of our dealers, ask lots of questions, and you may find that leasing really is the best option for you.
Kia & NBA Hand Out Community Service Awards
The NBA and Kia have been partners for a number of years now, and it’s a partnership that has resulted in a lot of really excellent things. It extends well beyond Blake Griffin dunking over an Optima, although that was admittedly pretty cool. Since 2001, our parent company has been giving out the Kia Community Assist Award to NBA players that have done great things for their locales, and so far this season that has included Wesley Matthews in Portland, Gerald Henderson in Charlotte, Rudy Gay in Memphis, Pau Gasol in L.A., and most recently Deron Williams in New York. more Williams has poured a lot of time and money into his Point of Hope Foundation, which supports children and families in need. Most recently, the foundation teamed up with an organization in New York City called “Neighbors Together” to help feed families left hungry in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. "I am grateful to be in a position to give back to others, especially given that there are so many different causes, so many different diseases, and so many people who have problems," said Williams. "The Point of Hope Foundation is just about helping people in need, and kids, especially." We here at Classic Kia love that we’re part of an organization that cares so much about giving back to the community, and we know that our Libertyville Kia customers are on board with all the giving back these NBA players do, too. Those guys are in a great position to some serious good in the world, and Kia really seems to enjoy recognizing them when they do.
2013 Kia Sportage, Sorento Win Value Awards
Here’s something that’s not a newsflash: the 2013 Kia Sportage and Sorento are two huge consumer favorites that have proven to be two of the most desirable SUVs in the entire industry today. People like them, and we Libertyville Kia Sorento and Sportage dealers sure do sell a lot of them. But here is a newsflash: According to the Total Value Index consumer survey put together by Strategic Vision, those two models have proven to be tops in their respective classes. The Sorento posted the best score in the Medium SUV category, while the Sportage took home the accolade for top Small SUV. more To get these scores, Strategic Vision looked at over 350 new vehicles and surveyed over 77,000 recent car buyers to get a sense of what they most looked for in a vehicle and about how the vehicles in questions met those expectations. Apparently, customers most look for innovation, whether that be consciously or subconsciously, and since Kia is top-notch in that respect, we probably shouldn’t be too surprised that things have gone so well for our two best-selling SUVs. Between 2009-2011, we released more new models than any other automaker, but we’ve spent the last couple of years working to fine-tune all those newer cars. We think we’ve now got a stable that people can really get on board with, and the ’13 Sportage and Sorento are, specifically, ones that folks seem to love. More than “seem,” actually, because these TVI results prove that it’s all really happening. Thanks to Strategic Vision for their hard work and recognition. They’re right; these cars really are great!
Kia Uvo To Get Major Upgrades
Anybody with the Kia Uvo infotainment system in their car knows what a great service it’s been for making hands-free phone calls and voice-controlled media usage, but however awesome those things may be, infotainment systems are expected to do more than that these days. That’s why it was so excellent to get all the great news at the L.A. Auto Show last week about some upcoming Uvo updates. We’ll just say this, folks; you can go ahead and quadruple you’re excitement. This is a whole new Uvo. more For starters, Kia’s infotainment system is going to rely a lot more on smartphone connectivity, which means bringing more content and more services to the car. There are an increasing number of great apps that work in conjunction with automobiles, and Uvo is going to be prepared to use all of them. It’s also going to link up with EServices like 911 Connect, which does exactly what it sounds like. That easy access to emergency help, though, can be valuable in the event of a crash or any of a number of other situations, and now all you need is Uvo and a Bluetooth-enabled smartphone to access it. We’re also looking at real-time traffic updates for the GPS as well as all the great stuff that the previous version was able to do. Infotainment systems have changed the way people enjoy their vehicles, and we want to make sure that the Uvo system does our great Kia cars and SUVs justice. As a respected Kenosha-area Kia dealer, we’re here to say that these upgrades will make Uvo better than ever. Now, it’s just a matter of waiting for the changes to find their way to our vehicles.
2013 Kia Optima Features Blake Griffin in Ads
From the moment L.A. Clippers forward Blake Griffin jumped over a Kia Optima in the dunk contest his rookie year, we pretty much all knew that Griffin was destined for big things. Since then, he not only has gotten himself a great endorsement deal with Kia (including a new one for the 2013 Kia Optima, which we’ll get to in a second), but has transformed into a major, major NBA star. The aforementioned campaign features a couple of new commercials starring Griffin and the ’13 Optima, both of which carry the same levity as earlier ad spots. more In both, Griffin starts off driving the new Optima and using the Uvo infotainment system as a time machine so he can visit his childhood self to give him advice about life to come. In one, he tells “young Blake” to work on his free throws, which is funny for NBA fans because Griffin is notoriously awful at those. In the other spot, “young Blake” is playing football, when the elder him from the future tells him he’s involved with the wrong sport. Both are as iconic as we’ve come to expect from a Blake Griffin Kia commercial. He’s got a great deadpan humor that works well in these kinds of ads, and when it comes to the 2013 Kia Optima, Libertyville customers couldn’t ask for much more from a commercial. Griffin isn’t doing dunk contests anymore, but he doesn’t really have to. He’s already solidified his relationship with Kia thanks to the craziest dunk ever, and boy are we ever grateful for that.
Kia Shows Off Four More Superhero Mods
We’re guessing you remember the pictures of that awesome Batman-themed Kia Optima we posted last month because, let’s face it, that isn’t an automobile you soon forget. In that post, we promised that Kia would be pairing other models with other DC superheroes at this year’s SEMA show, and we’d like to show you the rest of the set now. more The Flash Kia Forte Koup – As you can image, this follows a red-and-yellow color scheme, with plenty of “flashy” lightning painted all over the gorgeous Forte concept’s exterior. The designers also added 20-inch Asanti wheels, a coil-over suspension, and a beast of a sound system that features two 10-inch subwoofers. Apparently, The Flash loved to bump his tunes. The Aquaman Kia Rio5 – A custom Aquaman logoed grille is the first thing to pop out at you with this car, but the green rims, gorgeous paint job, LED wheel rings, green leather seats, and 20-inch wheels are hard to miss, too. Green Lantern Kia Soul – Mirror-finish green tinted windows and Green Lantern logos in the headlights are what make this particular custom Kia job so sweet, but the black-and-green paint job, logoed wheels, and green LED lighting also helped turn this one into a showstopper at SEMA. There was also a Cyborg-themed Kia Forte hatchback on display at the show, but hardly any casual fans know who Cyborg is. In any event, for fans of Kia in Libertyville, 2013 Kia Rio models and 2013 Kia Forte models that look this awesome are hard not to love. These aren’t quite as mind-blowing as the Batman Optima, but you know, they’re definitely close.
A Look At The New Sorento
Well, folks, we’ve been talking about an upcoming redesign of the Kia Sorento for several months now, and earlier in October we finally got to see some pictures of what the 2014 Kia Sorento is going to look like. First reaction: Dang, that thing is smooth. Second reaction: Dang, that was a fast turnaround for a model that only came out in 2010. It seems like our engineers started working on a new iteration of the Sorento the minute the first one hit dealerships, but that’s perfectly fine because Kia has become known as a brand that bucks tradition by putting out updates and generational upgrades quicker than other automakers. It’s part of what makes us so gosh-darn special. As for the new Kia Sorento, Kenosha drivers are going to love what we’ve come up with. Philosophically, the largest change in the new version was to create a smoother drive, and we were able accomplish that by lowering the ride height and redesigning the platform to make it stiffer and stronger than the current model. Toss in our Motor Driven Power Steering system, new suspension elements, and finer-tuned shocks, and you’ve got yourself a much more entertaining SUV to drive. Aesthetically things have changed a little too; the roof is lower and there are more aerodynamic elements to the design. There are new headlights, a new rear fascia, and an overall shorter, wider appearance. Personally, we love it, but obviously we’re a little biased. Still, we’re willing to bet that our customers are going to love it, and by sometime in early 2013, they’ll get that opportunity when it hits our lots.
